  • French Whimsy at The Westgate Hotel

    Featured on The Aisle Guide

Set at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego, the venue was built in 1970 as a peerlessly chic recreation of France’s legendary Palace of Versailles. There’s a special European ambiance conjured by the French antiques, tapestries, crystal chandeliers, and exquisite carpets. The color palette is unexpected and refreshing with a rich velvet blue and pastel pink, purple, yellow, and orange. There’s a lovely balance between refined elegance and fun with playful touches like the asymmetrical cake, the classic white tux, the large draping florals, and the mint tulle wedding gown. We absolutely adore these bold and romantic pairings!

It has been a year of change, growth, realisation, and acceptance for many people. "Gay and lesbian marriage has grown with acceptance exponentially through the years, but the narrative for the transgender community still needs to be heard, and even more so, normalised," said Ray, Creative Director of this labour of love. "Every detail from the dress, the suit, the hair, the tablescape, the cake, and more, was selected with intention. It was important that every element meant something." Ray continues.

  • Wedding Wisdom: Ray & Simon

    Featured on Men’s Vows

“You have to remember that the wedding is about you, and not anybody else.” At one point during planning the couple remembered checking in with each other to make sure they were doing this for themselves and not everyone else who was giving them input. “You have to do what is going to make the day memorable and special for you. Do not lose focus on the real reasons why you are doing this. It all has to be out of love.” Simon weighed in once again: “Hire a wedding coordinator. Hire them months before!”

  • Meet Ray + Simon Barrett of Radleigh + Sage Event Company, LLC in Costa Mesa

Ray and Simon then had an epiphany. For years, they have had a yearning to start a business of sorts but struggled to commit to one absolute idea. That night, however, the idea became very clear. The two decided they wanted to start an Event Company allowing them to coordinate celebrations and events for various occasions such as weddings, corporate functions, community events… the list goes on. Their natural social personalities and love for hosting and coordinating are the perfect pairing for this industry. And through their excitement, something struck a chord and tugged on their heartstrings.
